The SNAP® (Stop Now and Plan) Model is an award-winning approach to serving children and families. It is designed for children ages 6-11 with externalizing behaviors such as lying, fighting, bullying, stealing, and/or oppositional defiant behavior. The SNAP® program is an evidence-based, manualized cognitive - behavioral strategy developed by the Child Development Institute (CDI) more than 30 years ago. SNAP® is a juvenile delinquency prevention program that teaches behavioral strategies for emotional regulation and anger management. With help and practice, children and their families, can use behavioral approaches to stop, calm down, and generate positive solutions at the “snap of their fingers."

Skills And Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a program to obtain a Bachelor’s degree; and a minimum one year of relevant experience working with children, youth or families with three years preferred - course work in behavioral strategies a plus .
  • Familiarity with cognitive - behavioral therapy, structured group program format and parent/youth education and one year experience working with children, youth, and families preferred.
  • Community liaison experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license, vehicle and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to obtain Act 33/34 clearances (criminal and child abuse) as well as FBI clearance pre-employment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings.
