Position Summary:
This full-time position directly supports the final approval of fee-for-service billing in the Outpatient, Delaware County Intermediate Unit School Based Services, and First Episode Psychosis Programs. This role will work under the direction of the Program Specialist. This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to manage a high volume of claim approval autonomously, and assurances that daily, weekly, and monthly billing expectations are met for each program. While the duties of this position can be performed remotely, it is required of this staff to report to the office a minimum of one day per week.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in accounting, business operations, medical office management, and/or human services or related field
Programmatic Responsibilities:
Maintain compliance with and oversight of Outpatient, First Episode Psychosis, and DCIU billing procedures
Collect, track, and review staff’s weekly billing submissions including encounter forms, progress notes, treatment plans, consents, and timecards, when required
Ensure accuracy of all incoming billing paperwork through the reconciliation process
Maintain coordination and oversight of billing submissions and billing corrections
Administrative Responsibilities:
Communicate with BHMCOs and commercial insurance companies, as needed
Verify insurance coverage for patients within the Outpatient program prior to each scheduled appointment. Program leadership and Medical Director should be notified of rejected claims and insurance inactivity
Maintain up to date payer, authorization, and client responsibility amounts within EMR based
Manage payment collections by notifying the programs of outstanding balances and reporting back to Spectrum once the program collects the balance(s) owed
Utilize square to send invoices (when applicable) for balances owed and keep clear documentation of funds collected
Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
Work environment includes but is not limited to office, school daycares, homes, and community settings
Work remotely in designated space which must adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA standards
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly rate at $17-18 an hour based on experience
