Primary Purpose: To ensure efficient operation of the office of transfers and affidavits.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED.
Texas Accredited School
Special Knowledge Skills
Proficient typing, word processing, file maintenance skills.
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases and do word processing.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
Spanish speaking Required

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Serve as the receptionist for the office of transfers and affidavits.
Provide clerical and administrative support for the department and provide a consistent point of contact for members of the public and schools for inquires to the department.
Requires good communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
Provide clerical and administrative support including word processing documents, reports, letters, spreadsheets, tables and other secretarial duties.
Assist in maintaining department schedule for transfer/affidavit yearly timeline.
Assist in setting up and maintaining department files, sort and open mail, set up and maintain paper and electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material.
Maintain accurate transfer, affidavit and school enrollment data.
Willing to obtain a notary public commission required to process affidavits.
Prepare and file all correspondence reports, forms, memorandums, schedules and records including letters sent to parents.
Maintain all records and files pertaining to student records (including daily parent log, student records, office communication, processing of affidavits and student transfers).
Apply transfer and affidavit policies and produces in accordance with board policy.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor of transfers/affidavits.
Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
Equipment Used: General office equipment to include phone, computer, 10 key adding machine, fax, and copy machine
