Special for Service Groups Inc Job Announcement Title: Clinical Supervisor Division: HOPICS FLSA: Exempt/Full Time (40 hrs per week) Supervisor: AD for Health Services Pay Range : $3750.00 - $4666.67 semi-monthly Revised: 05/22/2024 Summary Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Health Services, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical support and clinical supervision to mental health professionals and substance use counselors throughout the Division. The Clinical Supervisor ensures the quality of clinical services by providing individual and group supervision and offering didactic trainings and consultation to staff as needed. This position is also responsible for ensuring that trauma informed and culturally competent services are being provided and appropriate professional standards and licensing/certification requirements are being met. Essential Functions Clinical supervision responsibilities: Clinical supervision responsibilities include monitoring the clinical work of supervisees; providing individual and group supervision for clinical staff and students as prescribed by licensing bodies (ie, California BBS, CCAPP); maintaining appropriate supervision agreements and proof of hours; signing off on required paperwork for the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, the California Board of Psychology, CCAPP, et al as appropriate; completing staff and student evaluations and written recommendations; completing appropriate paperwork in accordance with the MOUs with respective Universities; assigning Students Interns appropriate levels of work and training; assisting with crisis intervention, mandated reporting, and other urgent clinical matters; communicating with directors around staff and interns' progress or any areas of concern; traveling to different program sites within SPA6 as necessary. responsible for weekly case conferencing meetings, weekly group supervision meetings, and individual supervision as determined by funder requirements, state regulations for interns, and program needs; adhere to NASW Code of Ethics; appropriately document all supervision; provide clinical documentation training to new staff and ongoing refresher courses to all staff; review clinical charts and flag issues for revision on a regular ongoing basis to ensure documentation accuracy; spot check a minimum of ten percent of staff therapist and SUD counselor client files, to ensure that clinical files meet provider requirements and best practices; attend regularly scheduled and as-needed coordination and/or team meetings with DMH, SAPC, and/or Grant Funders as required; attend DMH QA meetings; stay informed on recent developments in the fields of mental health, trauma informed care, substance use and homelessness. Compliance responsibilities: Compliance responsibilities include completing and co-signing treatment plans, progress notes, and authorization packets as required; performing internal audits of medical records to ensure timely completion of clinical documentation according to standards established by law, regulations, and stakeholder requirements. Training responsibilities include developing and conducting trainings in administrative clinical topics related to the delivery of mental health and substance use services Act as the Field Instructor for MSW and MFT interns; Provide coordination with schools; Lead on interviewing and choosing candidates; Complete weekly, monthly and semester reporting to schools, Provide appropriate weekly supervision and weekly training; Address issues with intern performance. Maintain appropriate boundaries; and adhere to SSG's Code of Ethics and HOPICS' Core Values; represent the Agency in a professional manner at meetings and community events. Minimum Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Doctorate or Masters Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited college or university including supervised fieldwork experience; Licensed with CA Board of Behavioral Sciences (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) or Board of Psychology (Psychologist) for at least 2 years. Have completed and be in compliance with all BBS and SUD oversight supervision requirements A minimum of 4 years of experience in the delivery of behavioral health services with supervisory responsibilities. Completion of required clinical supervision training per BBS if applicable and ongoing maintenance of clinical supervision CEUs. Knowledge of trauma informed and evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, Seeking Safety, and harm reduction. Knowledge of clinical documentation (assessment, treatment plans, progress notes, etc.). Experience in meeting compliance standards for county, state, and federeal government contracts and grant requirements. Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population. Experience in working with co-occurring disorders, criminal justice population, and substance use treatment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities. 5 years or more experience with severe and persistent mental illness and working with homeless services California Driver License, Proof of Car Insurance, Reliable transportation, Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, Experienced on Microsoft Word and Excel If in recovery, a minimum of three (3) years of being drug and alcohol free is mandatory. Verification of Employment Eligibility and Background Check. Ability to work with homeless clients with chronic physical and behavioral impairments Overtime, holiday, or weekend work may be required. Supervisory Responsibilities Clinically Supervise MSW/MFT's, Substance Use Disorder Counselor Interns, Student Interns, Case managers, Counselors Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions) The environment for this position is office and field based. Must be able to work in an environment with many priorities, busy, and fast paced. Must be able to problem solve, adapt to changes that are unpredictable. Must be able to work with highly aggressive clients. Must be able to work in various shelters environments. Exposed to highly aggressive staff and clients: must communicate to many sources including courts and outside community agencies: sometimes noisy, loud and disruptive staff Physical Requirements In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time sitting, standing, walking, speaking, thinking, listening, and carrying (201bs). Must sit at computer for data entry and reports: sometimes spend time driving and walking and carrying equipment/files/charts. Assisting client with moving their personal belongings. Speak to staff inside and outside agencies in public meetings and Provider Meetings. Represent the Agency in a professional and positive manner Mental Requirements Able to manage uncontrollable changes in priorities/work schedules Relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions Able to respond appropriately to exposure to inappropriate behavior and language of others.
