Club Academy Tutor

Overview

Under the supervision of the Unit Director, the Club Academy Tutor would administer various programs including but not limited to Power Hour, Developmental Studies Center Curriculum, and one-on-one tutoring in Club. The essential duties and responsibilities listed are not all encompassing. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned throughout the year.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

KEY ROLES

Program Development & Implementation

  • Tutor assigned students four times per week, for 30 minutes per session. Develop and implement tutoring program that assesses, assists, and encourages member in the learning process.
  • Assist in the continued development of Club Academy program concepts, goals, objectives, and evaluation process.
  • Maintain fun, exciting, interactive environment in program area.
  • Implement incentive-based programs and activities each week.
  • Help plan and execute all formal and informal recognition programs.


EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT

  • Maintain constant correspondence with supervisor and parents concerning academic growth of members.
  • Tutor members in school and after-school at Club location.
  • Assist with collection and entry of academic data for K-5 Club Academy members.
  • Submit academic data including Report Cards and iReady reports to supervisor throughout year.


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Certification in Education with a demonstrable record of planning and implementing youth programs. Previous experience working with at-risk youth is preferred, as is a background in education.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background screening.
  • The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required. The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. The ability to read and write is necessary to complete reports and properly document program and organizational data.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy is also a requisite.


Work Environment: This position is primarily indoors. Ability to stand, kneel, reach, bend and lift objects weighing up to 50lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physical activity on occasion.
