Exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Leader with our global manufacturing client!


Job Summary: The CI Leader serves as a role model and champion for effective and sustained Lean implementation at the respective plant. This position requires a dynamic leader who can facilitate and drive change in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment, leveraging their strong interpersonal and influencing skills. This high-energy individual should enjoy hands-on participation and be adept at developing and coaching others in the principles, practices, tools, and techniques of Lean/CI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coach and Mentor: Guide managers, supervisors, and shop-floor employees on Lean/CI principles, practices, and tools to positively impact Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation.
  • Problem Identification: Recognize and articulate current problems, gaps, and opportunities, leveraging them to build creative tension and drive organizational action.
  • Change Agent: Foster a culture of problem-solving, continuous improvement, and continuous learning. Promote the development of the CI culture within the organization by advocating for its success and further adoption.
  • Facilitate Improvement Activities: Lead and facilitate kaizen events and other continuous improvement activities to achieve measurable improvements in SQDCI. Identify, track, and report metrics to demonstrate the positive results of continuous improvement efforts.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as an SME for problem-solving and root cause analysis. Coach, guide, and lead problem-solving activities to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Project Identification: Assist teams in identifying new projects through value stream mapping, data analysis, and daily management systems. Support and lead value stream mapping sessions to identify and eliminate waste, decrease lead times, lower costs, and increase overall value proposition for customers.
  • TPM Champion: Lead the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) program and drive improvements in overall equipment reliability.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of seven (3) years of experience in teaching, coaching, and applying Lean principles, tools, and techniques within a manufacturing environment, with a record of significant results.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Experience in facilitating multiple Kaizen events and achieving stated objectives.
  • Ability to influence decision-making and build critical relationships in a manufacturing organization.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for driving improvement and leading change.
  • Proven track record in developing, training, and coaching teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to engage and motivate people to meet or exceed goals and objectives, and to develop others.
  • Experience with automation applications and implementation is a plus.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Lean certification from a reputable organization or certifying body; preferably Bronze-level certification from the Lean Certification Alliance.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB).
