Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 depending on years of experience

Role Overview:
NXP is hiring a Toxic Gas Monitoring Controls Engineer for a leading Semiconductor company in Austin, TX. This engineer will provide control and toxic gas monitoring system engineering support for facility systems serving a Central Plant and Semiconductor Fab. This is a 5 days a week onsite role servicing 2 facilities located in East Austin and South Austin.
Day-To-Day:
- Analyze and design of control systems associated with Central Plant mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water systems, Compressors, waste treatment, and pumps.
- Analyze and design of toxic gas measurement systems serving a Semiconductor Fab.
- Verification, implementation, and repair of programming code associated with control and gas monitoring systems
- Plan and preparation of designs, specifications, and estimates for projects.
- Support Manufacturing, EHS, and Central Plant Operations.
- Support control system start-up, system optimization, and shut down functions.
- Development of Instrument and Controls Diagrams.
- Perform PLC programming.
- Develop Facility Monitoring Control System operator interface screens.
- Support system start-up and system optimization.
- Provide imaginative/innovative solutions to control problems and troubleshooting.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS in Controls, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Direct experience with MDA, FTIR, CL96 monitoring systems.
- Direct experience with Foxboro I/A system or DeltaV.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis or drafting using computer-aided design software
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with knowledge or capacity to learn Visual Basic.

- Ability to function effectively with peers inside and outside the organization.
- Root cause problem solving skills.
