Roles And Responsibilities
- Credit Risk Assessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and counterparties by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, cash flow projections, and other relevant financial data.
- Credit Analysis: Perform detailed credit analysis to assess risk factors, including industry trends, market conditions, and economic indicators affecting credit decisions.
- Credit Policy Development: Develop and implement credit policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent and prudent credit risk management practices.
- Credit Approval: Manage the credit approval process, including reviewing credit proposals, assessing credit risks, and making informed credit decisions in accordance with established policies and risk tolerance.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage the credit portfolio, including periodic reviews, credit limit adjustments, and proactive portfolio risk management strategies.
- Client Relationships: Maintain relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and external credit agencies to facilitate credit assessments, resolve credit-related issues, and enhance credit decision-making processes.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential credit risks and develop risk mitigation strategies, including collateral requirements, credit enhancements, and loan restructuring plans.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards related to credit risk management and reporting.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor credit analysts and support staff, providing guidance, training, and support in credit analysis and decision-making processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in credit risk management to enhance credit policies, procedures, and operational efficiencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree or professional certification such as CFA, CPA preferred).
- Proven experience as a Credit Manager, Credit Analyst, or in a similar role within financial services, banking, or corporate finance.
- Strong knowledge of credit analysis techniques, financial modeling, risk assessment, and credit risk management practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed credit decisions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients, senior management, and internal stakeholders.
- Leadership capabilities, with experience in managing a team and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Proficiency in financial analysis software, credit scoring models, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
