The Dental Assisting Lab Assistant supports and/or facilitates learning experiences in the laboratory, pre-clinical, and clinical practice sessions, in accordance with the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and Grayson College Dental Assisting Program policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:

The Dental Assisting Lab Assistant supports and/or facilitates learning experiences in the laboratory, pre-clinical, and clinical practice sessions, in accordance with the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and Grayson College Dental Assisting Program policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- 34% Maintains the academic standards as established by the College, the Commission on Dental Accreditation, and the Dental Assisting Program.
- 33% Assists dental assisting faculty in the development, implementation, and supervision of laboratory instruction during pre-clinical and clinical practice sessions.
- 33% Attends faculty meetings and college professional development as scheduled.
- Demonstrates the Viking Values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
- Provides quality instruction to students.
- Creates and maintains effective relationships with students, faculty, and staff in order to provide a high level of service and support.
- Promotes the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion when assisting students or faculty.
- Maintains current certifications, up to date CPR, and required immunizations. Submits to drug screen and background checks according to policy.
- Provides leadership and models positive and professional behavior for students.
- Complies with all federal and state laws and regulations relating to higher education and follows Grayson College, Dental Assisting Program, and Health Science division policies and procedures.
- Represents Grayson College well; serves as an ambassador for the college in the community.
- Maintains an acceptable record of timeliness and attendance.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to implementing student engagement within the curriculum.
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required.
- Must hold a current Registration by the Texas State Board as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
- Must hold a current certification by the Dental Assisting National Board as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), or be willing to obtain.
- A minimum of 2 years professional experience working as a dental assistant is preferred.
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with students during the learning process.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
