About the Role:

A PCB Designer will play a pivotal role in the development of high-density mixed technology printed circuit boards and their associated mechanical components. Adhering to both our internal design standards and widely accepted industry guidelines, a PCB Designer will contribute to our commitment to excellence in training, relationship-building, and value engineering.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, the mechanical design group, and manufacturing engineering teams to create products that meet strict design requirements and DFX guidelines for manufacturability and reliability.
  • Adhere to standard PCB manufacturing processes to meet quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in design reviews and work with team members to refine design strategies, aiming to provide manufacturing and material procurement with essential information, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), 2D drawings.
  • Engage in continuous learning opportunities to stay at the forefront of technological innovations, thereby supporting your career growth and enhancing our engineering capabilities.
  • Contribute to the mechanical design of advanced high-voltage power supplies used across various applications such as medical imaging, analytical instrumentation, industrial test equipment, security, and underwater communication.

What You Need:

  • Experience in designing PCBs using tools such as Altium, PCAD, PADs, or similar CAD software.
  • An understanding of electronic circuit layout and electronic packaging principles.
  • Proficiency in PCB-related mechanical design using AutoCAD, Inventor 3D, or similar CAD tools.
  • Knowledge of BOM and ERP systems.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Experience in the switching power supply industry.
  • Experience with general mechanical packaging design and 3D modeling.

Our good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $60,000 - $95,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a comprehensive and highly competitive benefits package.

This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY.
