Position Overview:

The U.S. Chamber seeks a Director of Coalitions to join our team and contribute to the growth of the Chamber’s advocacy work and grasstops business relationships. The ideal candidate will develop and engage coalition members through a strategic communications plan, events, and other relationship management projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee business, chambers of commerce, and trade association coalition development and engagement.
  • Manage communications with coalition members, including newsletters, calls, meetings, and events.
  • Partner with the Chamber’s Federation Relations team.
  • Collaborate with the various policy teams on issue-specific coalition projects.
  • Stay engaged and up to date on Chamber policy priorities and advocacy efforts.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience commensurate with the role.
  • 5 or more years of experience in effective advocacy and coalition building.
  • Superior relationship management experience and the ability to communicate effectively on policy priorities and legislative efforts.
  • Strong presentation and persuasion skills and confidence when conversing with executives.
  • An interest in policy and politics with a solid understanding of the Chamber’s work and value.
  • Highly collaborative and a self-starter.
  • Knowledge of government affairs either at the federal or state level is preferred.


The salary range for this position is $85,744.00 to $95,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits including healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
