We are looking for a Director, Manufacturing to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Vice President Manufacturing and based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role.

The Director of Manufacturing will oversee and manage all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure the production of high-quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Lean manufacturing principles and smart factory automation to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence to meet dramatic business growth in volume and product diversity.

Role and Responsibilities:


  • Manage and ensure the safety of the day-to-day manufacturing operations of the Delaware Plant.
  • Develop metrics that ensure teams stay on track and meet manufacturing deliverables.
  • Build cross-functional teams made up of Operations, Engineering and Quality. To improve manufacturing processes focused on cost reductions.
  • Hire, Develop, and Train an expanding manufacturing staff to support volume ramp up and continued product launches.
  • Manage and empower the production team to track, monitor and improve the key manufacturing measurables utilizing the team approach and continuous improvement tools.
  • Improve manufacturing processes by making recommendations for safety, quality, productivity & cost through variability reduction and the implementation of tools and processes.
  • Lead and mentor the manufacturing team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategic manufacturing goals and objectives aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient and effective production processes.
  • Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Conduct value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen events, and other Lean tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and develop staff in Lean methodologies to build a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Lead the integration and implementation of smart factory technologies, including IoT, robotics, AI, and advanced data analytics.
  • Develop and manage automation projects to enhance production efficiency, quality control, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of automation systems to ensure optimal functionality and ROI.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control systems.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and KPIs to monitor and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, supply chain, and quality assurance to optimize product development and production processes
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle times, improve yield, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through regular training, workshops, and performance reviews.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Work with Engineering to establish work instructions and standardized work for optimum manufacturing performance to quality and delivery requirements.


Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelor degree required; Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years working in high volume complex assembly or advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to positively interact with Executives, business managers, and employees.
  • Proven track record of implementation for high volume production launch and ramp ups
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Hands-on experience with smart factory technologies, including IoT, robotics, and AI integration.
  • Automotive assembly, Automotive supplier, or complex assembly experience preferred Experience in leading Production organizations and working collaboratively with Manufacturing engineering and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated success in a dynamic, frequently changing, and geographically dispersed work environment.

Salary Ranges:

$159,900.00 - $230,100.00
