Position Summary:


The Senior Director, Global Information Technology (SD, IT) is responsible for leading all aspects of the global Information Technology (IT) functions and infrastructure. Ensures continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance. Ensures IT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.


Establishes lines of control for current and proposed information systems. Responsible for Global IT security, IT infrastructure risk management and IT governance functions.



Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the Global business, including optimization of the compliment of in-house and outsourced IT services, management and integration of service providers,
  • management of vendors and vendor programs, management of IT financials and policies, security (including cyber) and IT architecture.


Periodic guest of Executive Leadership Team, to lead strategic and operational IT planning to achieve functional goals, foster innovation, prioritize IT initiatives, and coordinate the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.


  • Approves, prioritizes and controls projects across global organization as they relate to selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems. Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts to pursue master agreements to capitalize economies of scale.
  • Partner with Functional Executive Leaders to coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholder to define business and system requirements for new technology plans.
  • Keep current on trends and issues in IT industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate.
  • executives and management on their competitive or financial impact to provide framework for best-in-class customer service.
  • Leads development and training of IT organization to ensure appropriate skill sets are in place to align with Business Unit strategy needs, including succession planning for unique skills.
  • Ensures IT system operations, processes and management controls adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including FDA Quality System requirements, ISO requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls over financial reporting.


IT Operations Management


  • Maximizes uptime and stability of systems and networks. Data and Information Security
  • Leads development, maintenance and implementation of security programs surrounding data, information and system access; including timely evaluation of current trends.
  • Leads development and implementation of program for data mapping and data inventory, with touchpoints to data and information security, as well as General Data Protection Regulation and related requirements in non-GDPR jurisdictions. May rely on outside legal counsel and subject matter experts on guidance and direction in this area.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree, and IT Management preferred; 10+ years of established track record with experience across computer operations, computer programming and systems design experience within healthcare business preferred.


Strategic orientation with the ability to work at an operational level to lead the development and delivery of cost effective and efficient IT solutions in partnership with senior management and can translate business needs into business processes and solutions.


  • Must possess outstanding communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, problem solving and customer service skills at all levels of the organization, including Executive Leadership Team and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Strong organizational development, analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
