Director of Manufacturing - Modular Electrical Solutions - Valdosta, GA
Gryphon Oakwood are currently hiring for a Director of Manufacturing for a leading Electrical contractor out of Southern Georgia. The role will lead their 350,000 sq. ft. fabrication plant, focusing on meeting production schedules and the company's high levels of quality. The company is looking to grow in the modular electrical market, targetting Data Centers and High-tech Manufacturing projects. The role will also lead the development of the team.
Responsibilities:
Lead the execution of contracted work, ensuring adherence to all company standards in safety, quality, project management, and financial performance.
Optimize project efficiency by strategically managing staffing, materials, finances, customer care, and delivery timelines.
Oversee project profitability through meticulous planning, management, and monitoring, ensuring projects align with company objectives.
Prioritize on-time completion by meticulously managing projects to meet strict customer deadlines.
Implement effective workload distribution by overseeing staffing levels and closely monitoring customer deliveries and fabrication progress.
Ensure financial accuracy by reviewing all job cost postings, including invoices, customer collections, and periodic financial reports to clients and management.
Champion a culture of quality through proactive quality checks, outage prevention strategies, and a relentless focus on process efficiency for all assigned projects.
Leverage technical expertise to consistently demonstrate a high level of knowledge, effectively troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges as they arise.
Conduct rigorous reviews and monitoring of operational processes (estimating, purchasing, invoicing, warehousing, scheduling, reporting) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and efficiency.
Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives by developing, redesigning, and implementing process enhancements to optimize operational effectiveness.
Collaborate closely with the Training Department to proactively address quality and safety concerns, fostering a safe and secure work environment with safety as the top priority.
Lead by example through chairing operations meetings and facilitating training sessions.
Demonstrate strong commitment to team development by managing tools and truck inventory/maintenance and actively mentoring fabrication staff to further develop their skillsets.
Embrace a proactive approach, readily taking on any additional responsibilities assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or a closely related field)
Proven track record (15+ years ideal) managing electrical projects in construction
Minimum of 5 years within manufacturing, specifically with a focus on electrical based (preferably modular solutions)
In-depth knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and MEP industry standards
Adept at using MEP design software and project management tools
Strong leadership and communication skills, fostering collaboration with diverse teams and clients
Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects and teams effectively
Proven history of managing and developing fabrication teams of 100+.
