We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Documentation and Training Engineer to join our Learning and Development team. The successful candidate will be vital to the overall success of the Learning and Development team and the company as a whole. The Documentation and Training Engineer will be responsible for completing documentation accurately and on time, which is crucial for the long-term success of our organization. The ability to effectively engage and collaborate with individuals across the entire company will be essential to excel in this position. Understanding the challenges faced by other teams and identifying roadblocks will be key to achieving success. Collaboration and partnership are at the core of our team's philosophy, and the Documentation and Training Engineer will be expected to foster strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the organization. By actively engaging in these relationships, the Documentation and Training Engineer will gain insights into the unique challenges faced by different teams, allowing better support for their learning and development needs.

Our Learning and Development team has achieved success through the strategic planning and implementation of quarterly goals. Therefore, the majority of your work will align with these quarterly goals. However, there may be opportunities for the Documentation and Training Engineer to contribute to special projects that fall outside the scope of the goals.

Compensation:

We are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including skills, qualifications, and professional experience, which can cause your compensation to vary. This role has an annual targeted total compensation range of $60,000 - $90,000, which includes variable compensation (bonus) eligibility.

About the Learning and Development Team:

At the heart of Bitfocus, our Learning and Development Team plays a pivotal role in creating positive first impressions for our end-users and employees through engaging learning content. Beyond mere knowledge transfer, the team advocates for the transformative training of our data solutions, service delivery and Clarity Human Services performance. The L&D team works seamlessly with all departments, spearheading the creation of comprehensive training programs, both internally and externally. These initiatives empower learners with the knowledge and skills essential for enhancing their performance and achieving success with our products and services.

As a Documentation and Training Engineer, you will:

  • Clarity Human Services: Develop subject matter expertise on Clarity Human Services software. You will become the go-to person for any inquiries or changes related to the software.
  • Help Center: Develop subject matter expertise in the Bitfocus Help Center. If any modifications or improvements are required, you will be relied upon to make the necessary updates.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external customers to achieve common goals as defined by your manager. This will involve effective communication, coordination, and cooperation with various stakeholders.
  • Policies and Procedures: Assist in the creation and management of team Policies and Procedures (P&P) as assigned. Your input will contribute to the development and maintenance of standardized guidelines and processes.
  • Projects: Plan, execute, and oversee assigned documentation projects within the organization. This includes both planned and unplanned projects related to Learning and Development (L&D). You will be responsible for completing these projects within set deadlines.
  • Barriers: Communicate any barriers or challenges that may impede project deadlines and actively collaborate with your manager to brainstorm solutions and overcome obstacles.
  • Milestone Management: Coordinate with your manager to establish project milestones and timelines. You will ensure that projects are progressing according to schedule and provide updates as necessary.
  • LMS: Develop a foundational understanding of our Learning Management System (LMS) from an administrator perspective.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects across internal departments to meet the needs of the L&D team. This will involve coordinating the completion of organization-wide and team-specific projects within designated timeframes and guidelines. You will also schedule and organize meetings as needed, take detailed notes, and define action steps.
  • Process Improvement: Strategize ways to enhance the consumption of documentation through research and content development. You will identify opportunities for process optimization and propose innovative solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of knowledge transfer.
  • Wordsmithing: Edit and refine team documentation as needed. This includes tasks such as crafting LMS course descriptions, composing company emails, and addressing other written communication needs as they arise.
  • Review: Collaborate with your L&D teammates to review lesson scripts and provide feedback as needed. Your input will contribute to the improvement of training materials and ensure their accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Software: Utilize project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, HubSpot, Monday, and others, as necessary, to effectively complete your work. Proficiency in these tools will enable you to efficiently manage and track project progress.

  • People/Public Relations and Communication Skills: You possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships are essential.
  • Wordsmithing: You have a passion for words, writing, and editing, and you should be skilled in crafting and refining written content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism in their work.
