Summary


As a member of Mizuno’s dynamic Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) team, you will be at the forefront of driving growth and innovation in the digital retail landscape. As part of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the end-to-end customer experience, from product discovery to post-purchase engagement. Leveraging your expertise in e-commerce strategy, digital marketing, merchandising, and customer analytics, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies that increase customer acquisition and retention, and drive revenue, to enhance brand loyalty.


As the DTC Business Planner, you will employ merchandising fundamentals to enhance the consumer experience, amplify the consumer journey by leveraging marketing trends through insightful analysis, and spearhead strategic inventory planning and pricing strategies. Drawing upon your e-commerce expertise, you will execute strategic initiatives aimed at fueling growth, optimizing profitability, and enhancing the overall consumer journey.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The DTC Business Planner will perform tasks like the following:


Lead Strategic Inventory and Pricing Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive inventory plans aligned with business objectives
  • Use merchandising fundamentals to optimize product assortment and inventory levels
  • Monitor inventory performance metrics and adjust plans accordingly to meet demand and minimize stock-outs
  • Observe and analyze pricing strategies and markdown performance to optimize profitability and competitiveness in the e-commerce marketplace

Enhance Consumer Experience:

  • Analyze consumer behavior and feedback to identify opportunities for improving the online shopping experience
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements, such as improved navigation, product presentation, and search functionality
  • Execute digital merchandising strategies to optimize product placement, promotions, and visual merchandising on the e-commerce platform
  • Ensure seamless integration of inventory planning efforts with consumer-facing platforms to streamline the purchasing process

Leverage Marketing Trends:

  • Stay abreast of e-commerce market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape in our industry
  • Conduct thorough analysis of marketing trends and customer data to identify opportunities for product promotion and sales optimization
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to align inventory planning efforts with promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives

Fuel Growth and Optimize Profitability:

  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth and margin improvement through strategic inventory planning and merchandising efforts
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, conversion rates, and average order value, to track progress and identify areas for optimization
  • Implement strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining a positive consumer experience and brand reputation

Continuous Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by proactively seeking feedback, analyzing performance data, and implementing process enhancements
  • Stay updated on e-commerce best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address challenges, streamline processes, and drive efficiencies in inventory planning and consumer experience initiatives


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
  • MBA or additional e-commerce or digital marketing certifications preferred
  • Proven experience in e-commerce, category management, or merchandising
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency in e-commerce platforms, content management systems (CMS), and web analytics tools
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and execute plans that drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player, flexible, and able to accept and embrace departmental/organizational changes with positive attitude
  • Able to build relationships effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Competitive sports background preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop proficiency preferred
  • Self-motivated and passionate about professional development
  • Strong presentation skills


Physical Demands/Essential Functions


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an open office environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
