Job Summary
This position serves as the subject matter expert related to nursing education. The Education and Staff Development Coordinator exercises the knowledge, skills, and behaviors to influence professional role competencies and growth of learners in a variety of settings. The Education and Staff Development Coordinator collaborates with the interprofessional healthcare team, stakeholders, and the learner with the desired outcome for improved population health. The Education and Staff Development Coordinator supports the organization strategic plan by helping ensure goals and priorities align with patient care, staff needs, and organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required)
Physical Demands: Medium according to Livingston HealthCare’s physical demand classifications. Although on occasion an employee may be required to lift, carry, push or pull objects or patients heavier than said classification with or without assistance. Occasionally required to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
Machinery and Equipment: Frequently required to operate electrical/mechanical equipment used in patient care. Use of computer required.
Exposure: Rare to occasional exposure to contact with chemicals, moving objects, confined spaces, slippery surfaces, extreme temperatures, and noise. Rare exposure to blood and body fluids.

- Collaborates with organization leaders to identify their teams’ unmet or future learning needs.
- Collaborates with nursing leadership to ensure quality staff and patient outcomes through the development of education and quality / process improvement projects consistent with Livingston HealthCare’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
- Actively participates in Livingston HealthCare and Billings Clinic committees as relevant to nursing, education, patient safety, quality and others as assigned.
- Utilizes performance improvement principles and collaborates with the Director of Quality to assess and improve quality initiatives.
- Participates in making recommendations regarding technology related to nursing education / resources.
- Develops content for computer-based learning to support organizational objectives, this includes regulatory annual education for the organization.
- Serves as the liaison between Livingston HealthCare and the Billings Clinic Regional team to coordinate training needs, as well as tracking the usage.
- Serves as the liaison between Livingston HealthCare American Heart Association (AHA) instructors and the AHA Training Center at Billings Clinic.
- Coordinates education courses for staff and providers. i.e., NRP, FHM, ENPC, TNCC, STABLE, etc.
- Serves as a resource and role model in implementation of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting by recognizing and responding to staff’s developmental and professional practice issues through mentoring, team building, resource identification and networking.
- Collaborates with Nursing Leadership to develop and implement onboarding education and training for nursing staff at Livingston HealthCare.
- Serves as the liaison between the organization and Billings Clinic Professional Development team.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required)
- Current Montana RN license.
- BLS for HealthCare Providers.
- Previous experience working with electronic medical records.
- A strong understanding of adult learning principles
- Strong leadership, professional judgement, critical thinking, and problem-solving qualities.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.
- Effective organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and/or within a team environment and with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- 5 years of nursing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Nursing Professional Development certification.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
