About The Role
We are looking for an outstanding Employment Counsel to join our growing, collaborative Legal team. You will advise our People team and other business partners in all areas of employment law, and proactively manage potential employment-related risks. You will get to work on interesting and novel issues that arise from the intersection of healthcare, technology, and e-commerce.
You Will
Partner with our People team and business leaders to provide responsive and practical advice on labor and employment-related matters
Provide subject matter expertise and training on recruiting, hiring, performance management, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, internal investigations, terminations, and HR best practices
Assess and advise Legal department leadership on potential employment-related risks and think creatively about mitigation strategies
Proactively review employment policies to ensure legal compliance and consistency with best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and maintain employment compliance with state and federal employment laws
Stay up to date on relevant state and federal employment laws
You Have:
Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
8+ years of employment law experience practicing at a law firm and/or in-house
Active bar membership in any US state
Deep knowledge of US and California employment laws
Strong record of providing business-focused advice and creatively identifying solutions
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with business partners
Team-oriented mindset and positive attitude
Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong time management, project prioritization, and management skills

Outlined below is a reasonable estimate of H&H’s compensation range for this role for US-based candidates. If you're based outside of the US, your recruiter will be able to provide you with an estimated salary range for your location.
The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location. H&H also offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package that may include an equity grant.

An estimate of the current salary range for US-based employees is
$190,000 — $220,000 USD
