Engineering Manager
Food Manufacturing
Location: Greater Minneapolis-Saint Paul Area
There simply aren’t many of these opportunities that come around all that often. Here, things happen quickly. Gone are the days of seeking layers and layers of approval to get something signed off. Want it? It gets done.
You’ll be Engineering Manager across two food manufacturing plants, managing a team of 5 across both, and the good news is that there’ll only be approximately 10% travel.
Business is going great, they’re investing heavily into their plants and their people, and have built an amazing working environment. What’s not to like?
What You'll Do:
- Lead Capital Projects: Identify top-notch equipment, drive financial analyses, and develop supplier relationships. You’ll be negotiating with suppliers and coordinating capital projects with both external vendors and internal partners.
- Manage Projects: Delegate tasks, ensure project involvement with business units, and build ownership across the board.
- Leadership: Guide your direct reports, assist with career development, and manage performance.
- Collaborate: Work with various departments to solve production and quality issues, and partner with R&D and Operations teams on design improvements and new processes.
- Compliance and Standards: Review product/equipment designs for compliance with engineering principles and safety standards.
- Technical Support: Provide support for all operational segments, including manufacturing, distribution, and regulatory compliance.
- Safety and Improvement Initiatives: Contribute to the company’s safety, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma initiatives.
Put simply, you’ll need to be able to demonstrate that you have managed and had ownership of Engineering for the business, be able to talk about how you have continuously driven improvements across the business, as well as having managed and prepared the capital plan. This should be in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
