Status: Accepting Applications Apply Now Job Advertisement The City of Aurora is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of Equipment Service Worker. The Equipment Service Worker performs semi-skilled and skilled mechanical work in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of all City vehicles and equipment. Duties of this position may include but are not limited to: Locating, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical defects; Perform welding and fabrication on various vehicles or equipment; Install, maintain and repair special equipment accessories; Perform road service calls; Other related duties as assigned. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, preferably supplemented by completion of vocational courses in automotive technology; Requires a minimum of three years' experience in servicing and maintaining automotive vehicles and equipment with progressive levels of duties and responsibilities; Requires possession of a Class "B" CDL Driver's License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Promotion to Equipment Technician after 2 years if you meet the requirements. Per contract, eligible to receive $1,000 annually to replace tools needed to perform the job. Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to a written exam, drug screen, physical and background check. This is a full-time, union position. Starting hourly wage is $31.40/hour, an additional increase will be given after 6 months to $32.12, additional increase after 1 year to the hourly rate of $32.83, and annual increases thereafter.
