This role functions as a confidential executive assistant to the MDE Executive Cabinet members at the Assistant Commissioner level. It offers primary backup support to the MDE Commissioner's office and senior management, essential for fulfilling office duties and achieving departmental goals. Additionally, it provides advanced administrative support to various task forces and workgroups, ensuring stakeholder engagement in policy and program development, and preparing all members and staff for effective business conduct during meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience providing high level executive administrative support
  • Comprehensive experience drafting, writing and editing reports and correspondence
  • Technical proficiency with word processing, presentation and spreadsheet program (ie. Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with virtual platforms such as MS teams, zoom or Webex
  • Strong grammar, editing, and writing skills with proficiency in business English
  • Experience managing daily office operations, organizing multiple priorities and effectively carrying out complex oral and written instruction with minimum supervision
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address problems with confidentiality diplomacy and integrity
  • Effective customer service skills and ability to work with persons of divers backgrounds.
  • ability to research, analysis and present data into meaningful responses and reports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a confidential setting and handling confidential and/or sensitive correspondence.
  • Experience coordinating travel processes
  • Experience with handling requisitions
  • Experience with web content management and accessibility
