Our Family Preservation Team has an immediate opening for a Family Worker (FW). The FW collaborates with families to build a partnership to ensure their needs are met. FW's strive to provide individualized, strengths-based, culturally sensitive, and goal- driven service. This position requires local travel and flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule.
As one of the 2019 Pittsburgh Post Gazette’s Top Work Places, we invite you to join our Family Preservation Team. This program is an intensive in-home preservation program designed to help families stay together and keep children out of foster care. Family Preservation provides immediate crisis intervention and stabilization for families.

Essential Responsiblities
- To ensure proper assessment the Family Worker will:
- Gather and understand current and past psychosocial histories.
- Use diagnostic tools to provide comprehensive information for a treatment plan.
- Assess risk factors related to safety and well being of all family members.
- Provide clinical direction that meet the needs of the child and family.
- To ensure the development of effective treatment plan/services, the Family Worker will:
- Plan and lead treatment team meetings for the purpose of creating treatment plans/ISP.
- Work with team members to develop ownership for the treatment plan/ISP.
- Write and utilize specific measurable goals, objectives, and time frames for each child and family.
- Develop crisis plan for each child and family.
- To ensure implementation and evaluation of effective treatment plans that fosters goal attainment, the Family Worker will:
- Deliver services outlined in treatment plan/ISP.
- Monitor and record client/family progress.
- Provide advocacy for family to outside agencies.
- Evaluate and reform goals and objectives as necessary.
- Provide support to families in times of crisis.
- Education/Licensure/Certification
- Requires valid state driver's license and vehicle insurance.
- Clearances. State Police/FBI per state regulations; Child Protection; Mandated Reporter.
- Physical Demands. Requires vision, speech, and hearing
- Environmental Factors. Normal administrative office environment
- Working Hours. Mon- Friday as set by the Program Director
