What you will be doing as the Financial Analyst- Accounting Policy:

• Research and document the accounting impact of accounting transactions in accordance with US GAAP and Statutory financial reporting requirements.
• Maintenance of accounting policies to ensure compliance with accounting standards, vouching of financial transactions, performance of quarterly and annual controls owned by Accounting Policy, and ad hoc projects as assigned.
• Work closely with a broad cross-functional team including Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting, Actuarial, Investment Accounting, Legal, and other operational departments.
• Serves as a supporting role to the Director, Accounting Policy, 2nd VP Accounting Policy; and Controller on accounting and auditing matters.
• Complete special financial project work as needed or required.

What you will need as the Financial Analyst- Accounting Policy:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum five years’ experience in accounting and/or auditing with knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting standards
• Experience in technical accounting skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to research, interpret, analyze, summarize and present accounting pronouncements in a concise manner.
• Approachable and proactive nature, ability to be flexible, ability to communicate with all levels within the organization and foster collaboration amongst departments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical/critical thinking, time management, and operational skills.
