Position Description

Fixed Income professionals trade municipal securities for MSWM clients and interact with Financial Advisors to structure and execute transactions in a constantly changing market.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitating municipal fixed income transactions for MSWM Financial Advisors.
  • Executing client buy and sell orders while adhering to best execution standards, internal policies, and regulatory obligations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage Financial Advisors with market commentary and implement relative value trade ideas based on current market conditions
  • Partnering with the sales team to provide advice and recommendations based on clients’ needs and risk tolerance.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in Municipal Fixed Income Sales or Trading
  • Ability to identify investment opportunities and analyze client portfolios
  • Licenses: Series 7, 66 (63 & 65)
  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of Fixed Income Capital Markets and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A fast-paced and intense environment requires an aptitude for analyzing and interpreting complex information in a timely manner
  • Current on trading trends, methodologies, and platforms

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
