IFPC is looking for a Food Technologist to join their growing team. The Ingredient Technology and Applications team is essential to the success of the International Food Products Company. The team is responsible for developing new products, improving existing products, and staying ahead of consumer trends. IT&A also supports the commercial team by providing resources and support for technical discussions around distributed ingredients.  


This position offers an opportunity for recent graduates or entry level candidates to gain hands-on experience in the food industry and contribute to the development of new products and innovative ingredient blends. 

 

Responsibilities Include 


  • Assist in researching, developing, and testing ingredients for food products. 
  • Collaborate with senior food scientists to optimize products formulations and processes. Set up, conduct, and correlate a variety of basic specific tests and experiments, under supervision. 
  • Assist in creating and maintaining product specifications and documentation to support existing products and new product development.  
  • Document data and findings, create technical reports, file research/product information appropriately. 
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and analyze data to ensure product quality and consistency. Develop understanding of how to interpret and use consumer and sensory science data to support projects. 
  • Gains knowledge and technical expertise with all analytical and pilot scale processing equipment within the laboratory.  
  • May develop or assist with development of new product and application literature, customer facing presentations, and/or formal correspondence with customers.  
  • Exposure and awareness of FSMA/GMP/GRAS, legislation restrictions and their impact on development of solutions and recommendations. 
  • Maintain an understanding of IFPC’s safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedure and support as necessary.  
  • Support the established lab practices for a clean, organized, and safe environment. 
  • Serve as back-up to other IT&A positions, as appropriate. 

 

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications  

  • Experience with a food manufacturer or related field, 0-3 years.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related science field required. 
  • Great communicator, and enjoys leading and working in a family values, team environment. 
  • Collaborative mindset and strong teamwork skills required. 
  • Strong organizational skills, self-starter who is detail-oriented, creative with problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently in a flexible work environment with changing priorities. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient computer literacy, fluent with Microsoft Office Suite. Exposure to Genesis, CRM, ELN is desired, but not necessary.
