Position Summary
The R&D Formulation Scientist plays a pivotal role in the development of new products. This position is responsible for formulating and optimizing products from initial concept through to commercialization, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and efficacy standards. The Formulation Scientist will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive product development projects that align with the company's strategic objectives.
Essential Functions
Conduct thorough research on existing and new ingredients
Evaluate new and existing ingredients, recommend and provide technical support to Procurement in sourcing of these materials
Assist with designing of new products to meet the needs of customers, or alter existing products to make improvements
Design and implement formulation experiments
Assist with the design and update of material and product specifications
Conduct research and remain current on applicable technologies
Maintain and update records of formulation development and research projects
Maintain a clean and orderly workstation
Ensure new formulas and formula changes are compatible with equipment
Analyze and test the product to ensure functionality and performance, and recommend modifications if necessary
Document all experiments clearly in lab notebook and be able to generate a report to close the experiment
Comply with all company policies, federal and state regulations and procedures
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a science related field, graduate studies preferred.
Minimum of 3 years product development, formulation, laboratory testing or related experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. This position involves sitting for extended periods of time.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm (shifts may vary based on needs of the company)
Occasional overtime may be required
