Job Title: Front Office Trading Assistant


Location: New York, NY (& occasional Darien, CT)

Responsibilities:


  • In this front office role, you’ll interact with senior members of the trading team.
  • As you work alongside more experienced team members, you’ll learn the flow of the trading and settlement cycle, and the regulatory and operational considerations of each step.
  • With experience of the daily operations of the desk, you’ll dedicate increasing amounts of time to programming, assisting traders more directly, and automating tasks.
  • You’ll work with accounts by corresponding with new and existing clients
  • You’ll work with internal groups for credit and risk management when onboarding new clients
  • You will have your own Bloomberg terminal where you will book trades, run portfolio reports, and use Bloomberg analytics that organize strategies for the traders
  • You’ll be guided by the team to increase your responsibilities, handling both immediate, time-sensitive tasks and thinking about longer term strategic project work.



Qualifications:

  • Highly detail-oriented
  • A critical thinker with a solid quantitative foundation and an interest in expanding your technical skills
  • A good problem solver that can balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, reliable, and courteous with strong organizational and communication skill
  • Eager to ask questions, admit mistakes, learn new things, and continuously improve
  • Fluent in English
  • Series 7 certified, or prepared to pass it within a few months
  • Knowledgeable of U.S. Treasury markets: bills, bonds, and futures
  • Knowledgeable of Excel spreadsheets and VBA scripting
  • Willing to learn the basics of Python and SQL to automate reporting for the trading desk



Educational Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree required


Hybrid Working - We are currently operating a hybrid model for our shared services employees (including this role). We anticipate continuing these arrangements for the foreseeable future with periodic review. Hybrid for Cantor Fitzgerald & its affiliates across the working week, means three days office based and two days remote.


Salary: $ 70,000 - $ 80,000


The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
