General Ledger Accountant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team. The GL Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial records, including timely and accurate reporting of financial information. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the general ledger accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close processes.

- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintain supporting schedules.

- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

- Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations to support management decision-making.

- Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper accounting treatment for transactions and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

- Assist in developing and documenting accounting processes and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.

- 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or similar role.

- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems, SAP 100 and QuickBooks Online

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.

- Ability to prioritize workload effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
