Summary

The Plant Processor is responsible for training new employees or other employees for tasks/positions that they need to be trained in. They will have daily/weekly tasks determined by the area the Plant Processor will be working in and may also be requested to do other work as directed. The employee performs the assigned duties and responsibilities while maintaining a safe work environment and following the assigned policies and procedures. The employee must be forklift or hand truck certified. Must work all available hours that are offered and wherever assigned.

Role and Responsibilities

General

  • Follow all safety and food safety procedures.
  • Keep the work area clean.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management not described below.
  • Must work all available hours that are offered and wherever assigned.

Daily

  • Trains new/other employees on tasks required for the employee’s position.
  • Operates a forklift or hand truck as needed.
  • Ensures work area is clean and ready for the day’s tasks.

Treatment:

  • Loads vapor heat treatment chamber in a predetermined manner.
  • Closes doors of vapor heat treatment chamber after making sure all persons are outside of the chamber.
  • Operates the humidity and temperature controls to maintain the predetermined humidity and temperature within the chamber.
  • Completes treatment reports, as needed, for USDA APHIS.
  • Cleans and sanitizes the vapor heat treatment chambers.
  • Maintain the vapor heat treatment chamber.

Packing:

  • Operates the sizer to ensure that the correct fruit is dropped on the proper pack table. Ensure that the pack table does not become overfilled to prevent fruit from dropping onto the floor.
  • Packs special orders.
  • Keeps track of weekly orders. What has been packed and what needs to be packed.
  • Consolidates pack data. Inputs data into Produce Pro and logs data on to the pallet log sheets.
  • Keep track of packing supply inventory usage.

Shipping:

  • Receives incoming supply orders.
  • Prepares pallets of packed product for shipment.
  • Loads and unloads shipping containers and flatbed trucks.
  • Cleans and maintains the shipping areas.
  • Keep track of shipping supply inventory usage.

Pay Range

  • New hires start at $14.80.
  • The actual hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience.
  • Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or cash bonuses that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
