Responsibilities

  • Prepare and customize high quality curriculum materials to be dynamic asynchronous and synchronous virtual lessons
  • Applies a variety of instructional techniques in a remote-teaching environment, including implementing the latest trends, technologies, and pedagogical approaches in K-12 education
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to implement and refine content
  • Provides for differences of individuals and groups (both accommodations and differentiation)
  • Works in a supportive role with colleagues (e.g. cooperative course planning, curriculum development, test construction, materials preparation, methodology)
  • Communicates effectively with parents to enhance the learning process by responding to or initiating parent contacts in a timely, professional and constructive manner
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends in his/her field through professional activities (e.g. attending professional meetings, enrolling in relevant courses, reading relevant literature)

  • Demonstrates a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations
  • Interacts with students in a manner that encourages respectful relationships among students and teacher
  • Strives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through developing a positive class culture as well as through curricular resources
  • Integrates social and emotional learning into class activities
  • Encourages positive school-community relationships
  • Work collaboratively with parents, students, and technology professionals to troubleshoot student technology issues

Qualifications

  • At least three years of teaching English Language Arts with preferably at least one year in a virtual or blended setting, preferably at the 6-12 level
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing virtual programs for K-12 education
  • Strong understanding of educational technology, learning management systems, and virtual learning environments
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Familiarity with K-12 curriculum standards and educational best practices.
  • Must have a professional teacher license
  • Experience working in a startup or school-founding environment preferred
  • Success teaching with Great Minds Eureka Math and/or Wit & Wisdom curriculum or similar high quality instructional materials preferred

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Status

  • We expect this role will have a start date in August ’24 and an end date in June ’25.
  • Salaried position with a M-F schedule.

Location

  • Remote; must be based in US

The expected base salary for this position is $72,000. The base salary is not inclusive of benefits or other incentives.
