Teaching four sections of Upper School History and/or Social Sciences
Employing standards-based instructional and assessment practices
Serving on a grade-level team to support the socioemotional, academic, and intellectual development of students
Collaborating with faculty, staff, and administrative members in integrating curricula through our Wheels, Reels, and Meals programs
Serving as an Advisor to a small group of students (includes academic coaching, facilitating conversations on social justice and cultural competency, and supporting the development of skills)
Sponsoring a student club and/or coaching an activity or sport
Supporting field learning and outdoor education trips
Participating in faculty meetings
Planning and facilitating Intensives (two week-long collaborative, hands-on, and interdisciplinary projects)
Working with the academic team to advise on curriculum development, educational technology, and other learning needs
Taking advantage of professional growth opportunities and presenting learning to the community
Supporting all school programs as needed
Additional duties as assigned
Skills, Qualifications, And Attributes
Experience teaching History and/or Social Sciences at the appropriate grade levels
Mastery in the subject matter (a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required)
Experience partnering with other educators to create interdisciplinary learning experiences for students
Ability to communicate high expectations and standards for student learning
Understanding of and sensitivity to adolescent challenges
Ability to think broadly and creatively about student-centered learning
Commitment to providing detailed feedback on student work in a timely manner
Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion
Ability to scope and sequence student learning experiences in collaboration with other faculty
Excellent verbal and written skills
Physical Requirements\
