Hybrid Freelance Graphic Artist

Our client, a children’s clothing brand, is hiring a Freelance Graphic Artist to join their team in NYC on a hybrid schedule (2 days in office). This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent based on performance and the needs of the business.

Job Duties Include:

• Create original artwork, manipulate print repeats, and design colorway
• Maintain up to date knowledge of new trends in the kids/tween market
• Manage processes of color matching, indexing, and cleaning existing artwork
• Edit and retouch studio bought prints
• Create repeats within the brand size limitations
• Prepare print-ready artwork packages
• Partner to manage deadlines and ensure graphics are in line with customer image
• Ad hoc duties as needed and assigned

Job Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
• Expert level Photoshop and Illustrator skills
• Ability to design tie dye, create word graphics, create characters, etc.
• Creative sketching skills
• Strong sense of color
• Proactive team player with strong initiative
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary: $40/hr
