Job Summary

The Inside Sales Trade Specialist position interacts, develops, and maintains relationships with potential and existing customers within the fishing markets, primarily utilizing the phone and other forms of electronic communication to increase sales of products and/or services. This position is also responsible for developing sales strategies designed to demonstrate the features and benefits of the products to achieve greater sales and profitability.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist the Inside Sales Manager in reaching monthly/yearly sales goals.
  • Proactively make recommendations in order to increase customer satisfaction and transaction profitability.
  • Assist the Regional Sales Manager with sales-related functions in assigned territories.
  • Remain the primary source for technical product and sales/marketing information.
  • Provide same-day order entry on orders received before 2:00 pm.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with peers and the sales team. Work with others within the team to ensure all territories are caught up.
  • Be available throughout the day for customer phone calls.
  • Respond to emails and voicemails quickly.
  • Process “return authorizations” within 24 hours.
  • Travel as needed.
  • Help resolve credit issues for customers and reps.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Provide order management.
  • Identify and execute sales opportunities through order allocations, new product recommendations, and sales outcalls.
  • Manage EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) accounts for pricing errors, fulfillment, and release, and ensure streamlining of orders.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Qualifications

  • Call center experience preferred.
  • Experience in performing outbound sales calls designated by the Inside Sales Manager.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in AS400, CRM, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Communicate professionally and confidently with outside rep groups.
  • Strong product and technical knowledge.
  • Maintain stable performance and poise in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Take directions well.
  • Understand and absorb new information quickly.
  • Understand the value of creating customer loyalty.
  • Accept and adapt well to change.
  • Self-starter.

Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent
