Instructional Assistant -- Remote | WFH

Overview

You will play a pivotal role in supporting classroom activities and administrative tasks. Working closely with certified teachers, you will contribute to creating an engaging and organized learning environment for students.

Primary Responsibilities

Collaborate with teachers to prepare instructional materials and enhance classroom displays.

Support individual students or small groups with assigned educational activities under teacher guidance.

Assist in administering and scoring assessments and assignments.

Supervise students both in and out of the classroom, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Communicate any student needs or concerns to the teacher promptly.

Maintain the classroom environment, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.

Assist in managing equipment inventory and maintenance.

Aid in record-keeping and report preparation as required.

Participate in professional development sessions, faculty meetings, and special events.

Provide guidance and support to substitute teachers when needed.

Foster positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.

Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED; Valid Texas educational aide certificate; Associate's degree, completion of 48 College Credit Hours, or equivalent academic assessment.

Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively with children; Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred for Bilingual/ESL assistant roles; Familiarity with office equipment; Clear communication skills (verbal and written).

Experience: Minimum one-year experience working with children; One-year clerical experience preferred.

Copier, typewriter, computer, audiovisual equipment.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting. Some remote work may be required, utilizing personal electronic devices.
