Job Title: Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer
Our client, an Automation & Engineering Firm, is seeking a talented Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer to join their team in the Los Angeles, CA region. This firm specializes in providing top-tier services to a variety of industries including Refining, Gas and oil, Pipeline, Renewable, Chemical, and Biopharmaceutical. Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced I&C Engineer with a background in the Oil & Gas and refinery industry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining instrumentation and control systems for various projects within these sectors. As an I&C Engineer, you will play a key role in system design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in Control Systems or Process Automation are advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on instrument engineering.
- Strong understanding of instrument engineering principles, practices, and international standards (e.g., API, ISA, IEC). Experience in analyzer engineering is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and end-users.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities with a proactive attitude.
- Familiarity with process control systems, distributed control systems (DCS), and safety instrumented systems (SIS) is beneficial.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design, develop, and implement instrumentation and control systems for Oil & Gas and refinery projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate I&C systems into overall project designs.
- Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure system safety and reliability.
- Provide technical support during project installation, commissioning, and startup phases.
- Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, P&ID, drawings, and reports.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in instrumentation and control engineering.
Physical Requirements:
- Travel by company vehicle to local refineries and plants.
- Standing/walking around operation units while wearing PPE.

$90,000 - $140,000 (Depending On Experience)
