The Port Edwards Plant was constructed in 1967- For over 50 years, the Port Edwards, Wisconsin Plant has been safely producing Chlor-alkali and other products that are vital for the pulp & paper, food processing, agriculture, electronic, de-icing, petroleum, and water treatment industries.

Job Summary:

Maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems including distributed control systems (DCS), high voltage rectifiers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motors and motor control systems including variable frequency drives (VFDs), field process measurement devices (control valves, pH & ORP probes, temperature elements, pressure elements, level gauges, etc). Maintain electrical and instrument loop drawings. Conduct interlock checks. Specify and procure repair materials and equipment for new and modified installations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and repair maintenance tasks for electrical and instrumentation throughout the plant (preventative techniques may include thermography, vibration analysis, etc.
  • Conduct electrical and instrument troubleshooting and repairs on assigned equipment
  • Specify, install and calibrate new electrical and instrumentation included in plant upgrades and modifications
  • Conduct safety interlock checks on a prescribed frequency; Update electrical and instrument loop drawings as required
  • Manage relevant Work Orders in the CMMS in support of PM compliance (timely completion / closure, etc.)
  • Update maintenance files, drawings, and documentation. Ordering and control of repair materials


Key Attributes:

  • Journeyman Electrician / Instrumentation
  • 3-5 years electrical experience if preferred
  • We are willing to sponsor an apprenticeship
  • A background in heavy industry or the Chemical Process Industries is an asset
  • Must have experience with high voltage (up to 4K volts)
  • Effective written and oral skills
  • Superior troubleshooting skills a must
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Familiarity with NFPA Arc Flash protocols
  • A background in IEEE standards is an asset
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, ladder logic, loop drawings and other electrical fabrication drawings is required
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills to work in a self-directed work group
  • Work experience to show the ability to be a reliable team member
  • Must pass pre-hire physical & drug screen

Salary Range: $68,9262 - $95,637
