Overview: The C2C/Interim CFO will lead and oversee all financial activities for our client, a leading Logistics & Supply Chain business. This role encompasses preparing financial reports, setting financial goals and budgets, ensuring compliance, and reporting directly to the CEO and Board. The C2C/Interim CFO will develop management tools and forecasts to facilitate future business growth and manage relationships with lenders and financial institutions. Additionally, the CFO is responsible for crafting financial strategies to support the company's capital expenditure needs, such as large projects, leases, expansions, mergers, and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities


Financial Leadership:


  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the company's financial performance.
  • Develop short- and long-term financial goals and strategies.
  • Support the establishment of a solid financial structure and foundation.
  • Implement processes and systems to meet the needs of the business, board, and investors.
  • Increase the capacity to handle compliance needs and continuous improvement efforts.


Financial Management:


  • Ensure strong financial controls and risk management.
  • Lead weekly cash calls and financial reviews.
  • Assure the accuracy and consistency of financial reporting, including monthly closes.
  • Create and develop Board of Director packages.
  • Oversee the approval and processing of revenues and expenditures, budgets, ledgers, account maintenance, and data entry.
  • Record, reconcile, and report financial information, ensuring adherence to generally accepted auditing standards.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate external audit requirements and manage external public accounting and bank audits.
  • Manage finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
  • Oversee tax planning, forecasting, budgeting processes, and analytics.


Strategic Planning and Analysis:


  • Implement a robust Strategic/AOP process and provide accurate and timely financial forecasting.
  • Manage cash planning and forecasting.
  • Oversee vendor management.
  • Interpret business financial information and report key performance indicators.
  • Create analyses to support fact-based decision-making.
  • Participate in and/or lead negotiations with suppliers, customers, and business partners.
  • Manage all necessary bank meetings and reporting requirements.


Performance and Operational Improvement:


  • Drive operational improvement initiatives.
  • Develop finance functions as management tools, not just reporting tools.
  • Create tools to educate and manage pricing, customer profitability, gross margin performance, and EBITDA growth.
  • Support strategic initiatives and manage company expenses and cost controls.


IT and Systems:


  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and improvement of financial and management information systems.


Acquisition Experience:


  • Structure transactions and engage in pro forma financing models and analysis.
  • Manage post-closing integration.
  • Demonstrate capital markets knowledge and work with investment bankers, lenders, and other capital providers.
