Alma Bank is seeking an experienced and innovative Information Technology Director (“IT Director”) to join our leadership team. As the IT Director, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our technology strategies, systems, and processes. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a reliable, secure, and cost-effective information technology infrastructure to support our organization's long-term objectives. A successful candidate must have a deep understanding of IT and technology trends, and experience with the financial services industry is preferred. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for driving innovation and collaboration, negotiating contracts, coordinating information security with the Information Security Officer (ISO), overseeing the Company’s risk management and compliance of its IT Systems, and maintaining a Disaster Recovery Plan. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented leader. This leader will collaborate with business and department heads to inform their strategy development and jointly develop “technology forward” approaches to maximize impact, including automation and AI related projects.

Summary

The IT Director oversees the information technology strategy for an organization, developing and implementing the policies and goals for the IT department. The IT director analyzes the business requirements of different departments and conducts feasibility studies to determine the best use of technical resources.

Technical investments may include new information systems or upgrades to hardware or software components. The IT director coordinates information systems managers and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

The IT Director is responsible for overseeing and directing the delivery of IT services to all the Bank employees to include effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure, customer/user support and operations.

Staff Management and Planning

  • Supervise personnel engaged in developing, maintaining and modifying system software and application programs and in operation of computer hardware for users.
  • Plan and arrange work for efficient use of personnel, software and equipment.
  • Supervise and manage staff including staffing, goal setting, performance management, and training and development.

Systems Administration and Technical Support

  • Oversee analysis, program development, testing, checking, debugging and other technical operations to support an effective information systems function.
  • In accordance with requirements, engineer info systems for project and operational needs including installation, rebuild, upgrades, maintenance of hardware, software, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor systems service levels, integrity and security, and respond to issues including repair and recovery of failures and/or security breaches.
  • Provide excellent customer service and responsiveness to internal constituents on IT. Develop and oversee systems for evaluating quality of customer service and effectively communicating IT issues with all staff.
  • Provide technical support for equipment acquisition decisions, including those regarding ATMs, cash dispensers, and cash recyclers. Lead manager on installation and configuration of related bank equipment.
  • Support IT/IS in system design and analysis.
  • Perform and/or oversee network management, including adding users, network topology and structure, optimization, security and active directory.

BCP/DR Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include maintaining communication with Datacenters, monitor the readiness of datacenter facilities and data communication networks.
  • Ensure the availability of remote communication for approved staff to provide a virtual work environment.
  • Implement appropriate recovery, restoration, resumption and reconstruction efforts as applies to his/her specific areas of responsibility, or other areas as assigned by the BCP Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and analytical
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in a related field, and a minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant experience in a high-pace, mid-size to large or multi-location organization.
  • A graduate degree in a Computer Science or related field is a plus.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Expert knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Expert knowledge of network topology and routing.
  • Solid leadership aptitude and the ability to interface and communicate effectively at all levels

  • A good understanding of business demands
  • The ability to work within budget limits
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines

Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience in the range of $165,000 to $195,000.
