The Impact You Will Make

The Learning and Development Specialist supports operational excellence by designing, developing, and facilitating learning programs that meet the needs of the organization and our diverse employee population. This role is responsible for designing and facilitating high impact training programs through a blended learning approach incorporating online courses, virtual classroom sessions, and independent work that align with adult learning principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop training programs by effectively applying adult learning principles that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Utilize blended learning concepts to create training materials, activities, assessments, and job aids, optimizing learning objectives to meet both organizational and individual needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training materials to ensure that objectives are achieved.
  • Facilitate training using both online and classroom methods, ensuring the highest standards in facilitation, participant interactions, the overall learning experience, and providing follow-up to both participants and their supervisors.
  • Monitor training activities, assess their effectiveness, and implement updates and changes as necessary to ensure a prompt impact and high engagement in the classroom.
  • Participate in curriculum reviews and redesign initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various departments within the organization, serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in the design and development of learning content when training and learning needs arise.
  • Contribute to the overall success of people development by identifying ways to continuously enhance the learning process and experience.
  • Stay updated on the latest training technology and best practices by referencing trade journals, attending conferences, and participating in educational seminars and webinars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year college or university with a preferred study in adult education, human resources, organizational development, or related field required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of facilitating training required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years developing and designing training content.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with team members, leaders, and associates at all levels to build trust within the organization.
  • Ability to understand and use computer software that the department uses for employment, compliance, and reporting purposes. Specific Software Packages: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Google Chrome, HRIS and LMS software.
  • Ability to effectively and quickly complete tasks and assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to facilitate and present information effectively verbally and through written communication to a diverse audience of varying size.
  • Must abide by all company policies and keep all employee information confidential.
  • Must be well organized.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Must posses a valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle.

Work Environment:

  • On-site at Support Center, M-F required.
