Job Location: St. Clair Shores Branch
Days: Monday Thru Friday w/ occasional Saturdays
Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
Salary: $17-$18/Hr

The primary purpose of a Loan Specialist is to assist FreeStar Financial Credit Union in fulfilling our mission to positively impact the lives of our members, team members, and community through making meaningful connections and progressive financial solutions.
This is done by assisting consumer lending in maintaining all necessary documentation in order to remain in compliance with all regulatory agencies and maintain the necessary records to protect the assets of the credit union.
What You'll Do In As A Lending Specialist
Efficiently review and verify supporting documentation for approved consumer loan applications, create loan documents, and schedule member closings for both DocuSign, and branch.
Communicate directly with loan officers to obtain lending decisions and follow up with members and affiliates to relay loan decisions in an expeditious manner.
Maintain a high level of communication between the loan originator, member, and closer both verbally and in writing.
Answer incoming phone calls from both members and team members to answer questions and perform account maintenance on Visa and loan accounts.
Back up processor for incoming loan applications via phone or internet.
Process all insurance products by completing quotes, creating documentation, issuing policies, and processing claims, refunds, and payments.
Reverse loan payments and perform financial transactions as needed.
Process adverse action notices and subsequent action forms as needed.
Review Loan Exceptions and execute necessary corrections to maintain the loan file.
Assist in creating and revising procedures as assigned.
Field questions and service member VISA Accounts.
Review VISA reporting for lost/stolen/reissued cards.
Audit VISA Files.
What You'll Bring To FreeStar Financial As a Lending Specialist
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of six months of similar or related experience in the financial industry is preferred.
Must have knowledge of various federal regulations and the responsibilities relating to each act of the following:
Right to Financial Privacy Act
Regulation E (EFTS)
Regulation CC (Funds Availability)
Regulation Z (Truth in Lending)
Truth in Savings Act
Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
