The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant is seeking professional, highly motivated Cook to work in the high volume restaurant. Position requires flexibility with scheduling.
Compensation:
$17.00-$22.00/hour, dependent on skills and experience
Expected Hours:
Up to 30 hours/week

The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant is seeking professional, highly motivated Cook to work in the high volume restaurant. Position requires flexibility with scheduling.

Essential Duties of the cook:
- The Cook will be responsible for standard kitchen activities to include food prep and sanitary food-handling practices
- Proper food storage and stocking, rotation using FIFO system - FIRST IN/FIRST OUT
- Recipe adherence: Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment
- Team oriented person who will jump in and assist co-workers during busy meal periods
- Ability to char grill, flat-top, fry, and/or sauté meats (steaks), poultry, fish, vegetables and other foods
- Completing orders and food products as intended based on Chef’s guidelines
- Ensure kitchen operation and functionality
- Keeps an inventory of their stations products
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
- Prior experience in a scratch kitchen
- Ability to perform well in a high volume environment
- Ability/Knowledge to perform in at least 2 different stations (Grill, Pantry, Sautee, Fryer, Expeditor)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work weekends, all holidays, mornings, and nights
- Ability to read
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
