The Role
As a Linux Systems Engineer, you will help improve performance and maintain the health of our mission critical trading and research systems. You will build, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot various elements of our production environment.
The Team
As a member of the Systems Engineering team, you will work closely with a talented team and collaborate with stakeholders across engineering(software, hardware and systems), research, operations and trading.
Responsibilities
Own the full server lifecycle; from build to deploying new solutions
Monitor our production environment for issues
Troubleshoot an assortment of technical Issues in both hardware and software
Work with physical hardware at office and datacenters
Respond and resolve incident tickets within required response times
Research new technologies and solutions, implement them, or build better ones (!)
Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
Requirements
2+ years of experience administering Linux systems (preferably enterprise)
Experience deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting Linux systems
Experience with Linux CLI/Shell, debugging tools, and working with the network stack
Comfort with virtualized or containerized environments
Independent orientation
Ability to navigate competing deadlines and prioritize effectively
Up for travel ~30% of the time (mostly to data centers to manage servers and network hardware
Bonus
Linux certifications are highly preferred (RHCSA/RHCE or similar from Linux Foundation)
Familiarity with Zabbix, RH Satelite, RH IdM
Experience with Ceph, Openstack, Kubernetes
We Offer
The Base Salary Range is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00. These ranges are representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Summit Securities Group. Which range a candidate fits into and where a candidate falls in the range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. These ranges represent Base Salary only, which is just one element of our total compensation. The ranges stated do not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses.
