Summary of Position

The Junior Process Engineer is responsible for translating tool design requirements into material cut lists, commercial component orders, raw stock orders and work orders for the purpose of converting "raw materials" into value-added components.

 

Essential Functions

  • Create material cut list for saw operations.
  • Read and comprehend prints.
  • Order raw material and commercial components.
  • Create work orders for processes (Saw, Weld, Machine, etc)
  • Analyze CAD data (CATIA, IGS, STP, DXF, etc)
  • Track material/component delivery status

 

Required Skills, Education & Experience

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

 

  • Minimum of a GED or High School Diploma.
  • 1-3 years of progressive responsibility in operations/manufacturing.
  • Experience demonstrating problem solving abilities and resourcefulness.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. § is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly proficient computer skills
  • CATIA/CAD experience and/or training preferable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interpret blueprints
  • Basic understanding of standard build principles and practices
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing practices including welding, machining, bonding and fastening.
  • Familiar with manufacturing shop and shop environment and able to communicate and work with a direct work force at all levels.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T
  • A demonstrated capability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Excellent planning / organizational skills
  • Self-starter and highly motivated

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to travel to other site locations during the workday and would primarily be local during the business day. However, some projects may require overnight stays as well as out-of-the-area travel paid for by the business.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions described here are representative of those that may be experienced by an employee daily while performing the functions of this job.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary state for extended periods / 50% of the time at a computer workstation.
  • Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • May access and work in the manufacturing plant, and therefore must be able to wear personal protective gear (PPE) when required. Examples include safety shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection.
  • May be required to work overtime or weekends to meet department and business demands.
  • While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, vibration, and moderate noise level.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to frequently walk and stand for short periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 10lbs, occasionally lift and move objects up to 35lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to see, talk, hear, touch, feel and reach with hands and arms.
