Machinist - Manual Lathe

Overview

Quinn Company, your local Caterpillar store, is hiring a Manual Lathe Machinist in Riverside, California.

The Specialist - Manuel Machinist will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of manual machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders. The machinist will be responsible for reading blueprints and engineering drawings, setting up machines, and producing precision parts to specifications.

Wages

Starting wage for Specialist - Manual Machinist will depend on experience and education. $32.00-$35.00

Responsibilities

• The manual machinist o perates and maintains a variety of manual machine tools
• Conventional Lathes and threading experience is ideal
• Read blueprints and engineering drawings
• Set up machines
• Produce precision parts to specifications
• Troubleshoot machine problems
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Perform repairs with limited departmental supervision with higher level of responsibility for repair
• Possess tooling required by the service department
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Disassemble and assemble machines/components. Recondition/repair as required
• Work overtime as required by workload and customer need
• Select proper tooling for any standard job and demonstrate proficiency with Cat diagnostic tools
• Perform diagnostics and organize appropriate repair procedures
• Successfully complete appropriate training sessions as required
• Demonstrate safe and proper application of hand, pneumatic and electric tools
• Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees
• Follow directions as given; follow company policies and procedures.
• Build competencies and share skills with other technicians, retain acquired knowledge
• Be responsible and proactive for personal development and training requirements for growth
• Stay current with Cat product line. Utilize resources from Cat and Quinn Company

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience as a manual machinist
• Strong knowledge of machining principles and practices
• Experience with a variety of manual machine tools
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail
