Position Overview: An exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Mechanic to join the Bradken Maintenance Department at the Tacoma, WA Foundry. The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for preventative maintenance and following work instructions in a safe and timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performing repairs, modifications, and new parts installations on existing equipment
  • Carrying out preventive maintenance on equipment per the schedule and work instructions provided
  • Participating in the installation of new plant equipment
  • Repairing and installing pneumatics, hydraulics, and structural framing
  • Maintaining required record files and maintenance logs
  • Utilizing proper tools necessary to perform maintenance & repairs
  • Understand and follow Lock-out Tag-out, Confined space and Fall protection policies
  • Keep areas clean and practice good housekeeping in work areas

Qualifications:

  • 2 years experience as an industrial Maintenance Mechanic
  • Previous vocational or technical college course work preferred

Experience:

  • Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing, and carpentry on production machinery and facilities
  • Electrical experience is preferred
  • Welding and fabrication and use of plasma and cutting equipment experience is a plus
  • Previous training in HazMat and Spill Prevention is a plus
  • PLC skills preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to complete necessary paperwork including work orders for preventative maintenance
  • Ability to read a tape measure and do basic math including fractions required
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems required
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and structural diagrams required

Shift: 1st shift, 6:00AM - 2:30PM AND 2nd shift, 2:00PM - 10:30PM

Pay Range: $22.63 - $29.54/hour (plus $1 shift differential on 2nd)
