Job Summary:

The Marine Mechanic is a highly skilled mechanic who services and repairs electrical and

mechanical equipment on marine vessels. They are tasked with overseeing all repairs and

maintenance of all marine engines including outboard motors and inboard motors. The right

candidate is a person who is always on time, friendly and loves to work around people. This

person is responsible for the operation of all equipment as well as towing trailers for boats and

jet skis.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for supervising and coordinating all repair and maintenance duties of the

marine assets (i.e. jet skis)

  • Works on complex mechanical problems by servicing and repairing boats and jet ski

rentals through diagnosing issues, ordering parts, and obtaining wreck estimates

  • Prioritizes work according to the most urgent needs
  • Processes warranty claims
  • Conducts general cleaning and maintenance of recreational equipment and commercial

facility

  • Assists with rentals and tour clients on operation, paperwork, and training team

members

  • Follows and enforces safety rules, OSHA regulations and administrative and operational

policies and procedures

  • Maintains excellent knowledge of electrical engines and other systems and their

components

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Yamaha Jet Ski certification
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Three years related experience

Preferred:

  • Mercury Technician Certification (Will provide schooling for the right candidate)
  • Provide their own tools

Essential Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn and open to training and development
  • Marine Mechanic certification (Preferred)
  • Ability to understand and execute written and verbal requests
  • Ability to work in a warm/hot environment
  • Willingness to work weekend hours and some nights
  • Ability to multitask and take ownership of various tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently
  • Effective communication skills with guests, peers, and management
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic computer knowledge (how to send and receive emails)
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for up to 8

consecutive hours, with occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders

Salary range: $23-$26 hourly
