Marketing Coordinator

Department Summary

The Development Department is responsible for raising awareness and resources for CYC to sustain and grow programming and support the operation of CYC's nine-million-dollar budget. The five-person team oversees grants, marketing, media, external engagement, data systems, program evaluation, events, and fundraising. Diversified revenue streams include grants, events, individual and corporate donors, and fee-for-service in partnership with schools and districts.

Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator is a member of the Development Department and is responsible for enhancing the organization's visibility and engagement across various platforms. This position develops and manages content for social media, blogs, newsletters, and events, ensuring consistent messaging that supports CYC's mission, vision, values, and programming. The Marketing Coordinator oversees the production of diverse materials, maintains the organization's website, and drives outreach campaigns to promote giving, special events, and AmeriCorps recruitment. The Marketing Coordinator also handles media relations, supports fundraising events, and assists the Development Team in community and donor relations. This position is full-time, Denver-based, with a salary of $48,000 annually with benefits.

Essential Functions

Communications

  • Develop content and tell stories across social media, blogs, newsletters, and events.
  • Create and oversee content for CYC in social media, assuring consistent messaging that supports the success of specific events, programs, and CYC's mission.
  • Coordinate the creation and production of materials, including videos, fact sheets, and annual report.
  • Develop and maintain outreach campaigns to promote giving and special events.
  • Execute AmeriCorps recruitment campaign in partnership with the Recruitment team to promote national service opportunities with Colorado Youth for a Change.
  • Manage organization assets such as photos, videos, signage, promotional items, logos, etc.
  • Draft and schedule targeted communication with constituent groups in conjunction with our marketing platform, Feathr.
  • Use dashboards in Feathr and Google Analytics to report out on key performance indicators.
  • Manage data integrations with third-party vendors.

Website

  • Drive CYC's Wordpress website strategy to provide outstanding user experience.
  • Publish regular updates in partnership with programs, including new stories, AmeriCorps recruitment information, and donor/volunteer engagement opportunities.
  • Conduct and/or ensure regular technical maintenance and backups to the site and plugins.

Media & Community Relations

  • Develop and cultivate media contacts and relationships.
  • Pursue opportunities for earned media coverage, including writing and sending press releases and pitching stories.
  • Support incoming media inquiries and requests for information in partnership with Executive Director and Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Events

  • Support fundraising events through promotions, theme planning, materials, invitations, and content generation.
  • Support with script development and assist with event production during special events.
  • Coordinate video production for events with external contractors.

Support of Development Team

  • Assist Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives in community, donor, and corporate relations including presentations, cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives and the Development Committee in creation of ongoing strategic plan for Development.

Other Duties

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of local, state, and national trends, demographics, and issues related to fundraising and education.
  • Bring creative ideas to marketing, events, and community relations.
  • Run errands as needed using personal transportation.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.
  • Complete required training as assigned by CYC.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, donor database software, website management software and social media.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; strong oral communication skills.
  • Strong relationship skills and a good sense of effective marketing.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to be highly organized, and work under pressure to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Self-directed and able to effectively work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with internal staff and external partners.
  • Contribute to a positive morale.
  • Appreciation of clear and appropriate boundaries with youth, AmeriCorps members, and staff.
  • A passionate and committed belief that students deserve access to quality education resources and support.
