Master Planning and Scheduling Manager

Job Description

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Partner on daily escalations for the team
  
  
  

Responsibilities

• Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, customer service, and manufacturing departments.
  
  
  

Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or

customer needs.

• Partner with organizations regarding cost, quality and lifecycle management, processes & tools development (ERP knowledge
  
  
  

of SAP, Oracle, Agile all a plus).

• Identify and manage various aspect of planning requirements including:
• Periodically compares current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; uses judgment to
  
  
  

anticipate demand for and to acquire additional supplies as needed; Inventory- fill rate and weeks of supply; Delivery

performance - On-time to request/original commit/current commit; lead time attainment; Inventory-delivery trade-

offs; Delivery performance for critical customer accounts & market segments; Cost/Margin optimization; What-if /

scenario planning and decision making.

Manage daily production planning and scheduling activities. Plan manufactured parts utilizing the best ordering approach (MRP,

Kanban etc.).

• Facilitates forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, operations and other related departments; leads additional planning
  
  
  

meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.

• Perform supply and demand analysis and incorporate into the forecast; keep management informed of capacity constraints
  
  
  

and/or any concerns related to meeting our customer expectations.

• Manage inventory builds and provide ship dates and comments to customer service department during contract reviews
• Participate in all physical inventories.
• Work closely with operations to develop reliable, state of the art production schedule reports for production control/planning
  
  
  

purposes, and management review.

• Develop and maintain accurate daily WIP status reporting and coordinate action w/manufacturing supervisors
• Maintain reporting tools to be able to perform analysis, follow-up on all manufacturing variance on production builds
• Partner with production supervisors to provide work direction and prioritize schedules on shop floor.
