The Role You’ll Contribute
Provide clerical/office and competency based clinical support within a physician clinic, including but not limited to reception, telephone, retrieval of medical information from internal and external systems and sources. Progressive competency based clinical support including but not limited to patient greeting, rooming, vital signs, EKG, and documentation in EMR. Also, provide support by facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, spiritual needs of the patient. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values

- Progressive competency based medical assistant apprentice under the direct supervision of facility based clinical mentor and professional development and education team.
- EKG
- EMR documentation of skills performed.
- Collecting POC test samples to include: Urine & Rapid Strep/Influenza Procedure set up and provider assistance
- EMR documentation of skills performed.
- Collecting POC test samples to include: HGB A1C, HGB/HCT, PT/INR Venipuncture and specimen collection.
- EMR documentation of skills performed.
- Oral Medication administration
- EMR documentation of skills performed
- Intramuscular Injections, Subcutaneous medication, and immunization administration. EMR documentation of skills performed
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Display a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.
- Maintain the confidentiality of employees' and patients' administrative and medical information, with no infractions.
- Requires the ability to verbally communicate clearly and effectively with patients and co-workers.
- Demonstrates responsibility/knowledge about commonly used medication.
- Utilizing Electronic Health Record
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent .
- Enrolled in AHMG based Medical Assistant training/apprenticeship program.
- Demonstrated customer service and leadership skills; through high school organizational involvement and or previous employment. Demonstrated basic office and computer skills. Demonstrated basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, and E- Mail. Attention to detail. Desire to work with Patient Populations.
- One (1) year medical office experience or less
- CMA - Eligible after one (1) year working experience or one (1) year after graduate from MA program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association is required within 90 days of employment
