The Office of Outdoor Recreation serves as a resource, a partner, and a leader in supporting sustainable, accessible, and welcoming outdoor recreation to improve the quality of life and economic vitality across the State of Tennessee.

We're looking for an outdoor recreation enthusiast with a keen eye for project management, stakeholder engagement, and nurturing partner relationships.
Job Overview
Serve as a leader in outdoor recreation and contribute to achieving collaborative goals. Help develop and implement the state's strategic plan for outdoor recreation. Support teammates and partners through collaboration, trust, and hard work. Coordinate and take part in outdoor recreation activities and special events throughout the state.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a leader in outdoor recreation and drive collaborative outcomes.
Develop and execute the state's outdoor recreation strategic plan.
Support conservation goals by encouraging stewardship and evidence-based decision making.
Ability to decipher and relay research related to outdoor recreation.
Manage a myriad of outdoor recreation related projects that further the state's outdoor recreation goals and initiatives.
Prepare detailed reports for state executives and other stakeholders that highlight current projects, activities, and measured success.
Nurture the collaborative relationships between outdoor partner agencies including state, federal, local, and non-profits.
Support the Tennessee Outdoor Partnership Advisory Council and its quarterly meetings.
Engage stakeholders, along with organizing and participating in outdoor recreation activities and special events across the state.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of full-time professional experience in natural resource or recreation management. A post-graduate or Master's Degree is preferred.
